Broadstairs, our picturesque seaside town, left a lasting impression on Najwa, a Saudi Arabian student who studied with us for six weeks this summer. She was inspired to compose a poem about her surroundings. You can enjoy reading her words below:
“Broadstairs was not an ordinary city. Its passing was never dull; it slipped into my soul like a spring dream. It left its stories, its scent, and its streets in my memory, and its details still overflow in my heart. The sound of the night train as it passes my small window, the raindrops playing their rhythm on my umbrella, the fleeting conversations of friends, the sea, the houses, the school benches, the passion, the dreams, the wishes… Broadstairs never left me. It remained suspended within me like a small promise of return.”
